Our Story

Eric Casteel opened Woodcraft of Iowa City in 2022. After doing plenty of DIY projects at home from bookcases to tables, Eric recognized a need in his community for specialty woodworking with affordable costs. With a passion for his work, he opened a specialty woodworking tool and products store that caters to everyone, from beginners to experts. In just a short time after opening, Eric has grown his business into a leading specialty hardware store in Iowa City and surrounding areas.

First trip to Woodcraft store in Iowa City, they have quite a selection of router bits, unfortunately not the one I was looking for. But they had a lot of great projects kits that you don't find anywhere else. Staff was very helpful, they were willing to try and find items for us and if they didn't have , ( due to heavy sales from the holiday's) they let me know when I could expect them to come in.
